How do I upload photos from my iPhone/iPod touch or smart cellphone?
You can upload a photo from your iPhone (or any device with an email capability) by emailing the photo to your website.

To email a photo from your iPhone first select the iPhone Photos icon, then Camera Roll, select the photo to upload, then touch the icon displayed in the lower left hand corner of the photo to bring up the email program. By setting the email To: value you address the photo to your GPA.me website.

Instructions for setting the To: email value. The format is abbreviation.type.word@gpa.me. Notice the dots (.) between the parts of the to email address.

Where...
abbreviation is your website abbreviation

type is set to the section of your website where you want to place the photo. Valid values are: notes, family, friends, doc, project, fun.

word is a secret word of your choosing. The secret word is set in the Admin section of your website. Email photo upload is turned off until you set a secret word.

Example: example.notes.flower@gpa.me

When you compose your email the Subject line is used for the Title of your website entry. You can put additional information in the Body of the email. The body of the email is placed into the text of the entry.

You can also upload photos from other email programs. To use another email program set the type of email to 'text only' if you want to include text in the body of the post. MS Outlook defaults to HTML type formatting so you will need to change the Mail Format to 'Plain Text'. If you are uploading from an iPhone then no change is needed since the iPhone sends 'Plain Text' type emails.


How much disk storage space am I allocated for my website?
GPA.me websites are allocated 10 Megabytes of disk space. This should be enough space for approximately 75 photos. The storage space used by text pages (notes, class grades, schedules, etc.) is negligible and is usually ignored.


Will GPA.me send unsolicited email (SPAM) to me once I have created a website?
GPA.me does not send unsolicited email. Only in the rare instance when there is a problem with your website will you receive an email from GPA.me.

Note: Most free website providers SPAM you repeately with "press announcements" and advertisements.


How long does my website remain active?
GPA.me websites are active in 4 month increments. GPA.me websites which show no activity (are not updated) for a period of 4 or more months are removed. Newly created websites must be updated (an entry made to them) within the first week after you make the site.

Please note, the process that removes inactive websites is a semi-automatic process and an email removal notice is not sent to you prior to the removal of the site. Therefore to keep your website active you must make an entry (notes, photo, etc) on your website at least once every 4 months.


I have forgotten my site URL and/or password. What do I do?
You can reset your password or find your website by clicking on the 'Find Your Website' and following the instructions from there.


What is Archive used for?
Archive allows you to move an entry out of the active area into the archive area. Once archived it can later be activated (moved back to the active area) if the need arises. An example of when you might use archive is when a calendar item has passed you can then either delete it or archive it. You might archive it if there was information in the entry that you think may be useable in the future. Archive is available on all of the database selections.

Will there be any ads on my website?
Currently we do not plan on putting ads on your website. If we change this policy we will post an announcement, in the admin area of your website, 30 days prior to the start of ads.


What is the Admin - 'Current Class Weights' selection used for?
Class weights are used in computing the current class grade. Instructors typically assign varying importance to homework, quizzes, mid-term exams, etc. Usually this importance is listed on the class sylabus in terms of percentage used in determing your grade. Once class weights are set the program can calculate your current class grade.


What is the Admin - 'Clear Latest Additions Section on Home Page' used for?
On your home page you can optionally display a list of your last 5 entries to your page. By default this Latest Additions is turned off but you can enable it in the 'Home Page Builder' Admin selection. If you are using this feature then you can use this feature to clear the list.


Is my website listed in a GPA.me directory?
No. All sites are private. You must know your site URL as well as your User ID and password to access the site.


Can I enter HTML code on my pages?
No. Two HTML like commands are provided though bold and italics. To enter bold print enclose the data in pseudo HTML as follows [b] ... [/b] So bold would be coded [b]Bolder stuff here[/b]. Italics is similar [i]italics[/i].
